Pimple patches (hydrocolloid)

Good: Fine, and great if you pickevidence: weak/contestedPEER-REVIEWED 2025

The little dots you stick on a whitehead overnight. They're a soft dressing that soaks up the gunk from a popped or oozing pimple and, maybe more usefully, physically stops you from picking at it. The published evidence is thin, just a couple of small studies, so don't expect much on deep, unopened bumps. But they're cheap, safe, and genuinely handy for the surface stuff. Totally fine to like these.

what the evidence says

A 2025 review found only two small clinical acne studies; hydrocolloid patches absorb fluid and shield the lesion, are generally well tolerated, but the evidence base is limited.
